For many learners, going to university means balancing study with work, location, and family responsibilities. The Open University of Kenya (OUK) was created with those realities in mind. Established in 2023 as Kenya’s first fully online and specialised public university, OUK has already enrolled more than 30,000 learners from 79 countries, including working professionals, young people, persons with disabilities, learners in remote areas and members of the diaspora.
