Malawi celebrates 62 years of independence today! Learners, educators and institutions in Malawi are benefiting from continued progress in open schooling, higher education, skills development and gender equality. COL has worked with Malawi to expand access to open learning by supporting micro-credentials, national guidelines and policies, and approaches that recognise the value of prior learning. Through Girls Inspire and the Empowering Women and Girls project, Malawi has empowered women and girls by helping them return to school, reducing early marriage, improving health outcomes, and expanding opportunities for education and economic participation.
