CoSN’s newly released 2026 Driving K–12 Innovation Report offers a clear-eyed look at where education technology is headed—and what it will take to get there responsibly. Drawing on insights from more than 130 global education and technology leaders, the report maps the year’s most pressing Hurdles (from educator and IT workforce shortages to cybersecurity and critical media literacy), the Accelerators reshaping systems (including human-centered leadership, learner agency, and new ways to demonstrate learning), and the Tech Enablers—such as generative AI, data visualization, and privacy tools—poised to transform teaching and learning. A unifying message runs throughout: technology alone won’t drive progress; intentional leadership, equity, ethics, and a strong culture of trust will.
